What we have here is a clear case of JAXPORT trying to seek reciprocity against the Mayport Village Community for successfully fending off it's recent developmental assault. Unable to disrupt their quiet 500 year old life style, JAXPORT vowed to Mayport to be back. Now, they have embarked on a mission to destroy the village once and for all. What better way to limit the community's activities and economy than to cut her vehicle traffic in half. JAXPORT reasons that once the local economy is dead, they can go in like blitzkrieg and overwhelm the village with little or no political resistance. Jaxport claims that the Mayport Ferry is loosing money every year is bull-shit. Besides, since when has profitability been an operational requirement for a government function? The Mayport Ferry is a Public Service facility, ... not a Profit Center. JAXPORT needs to shut-up, move on and leave Mayport alone. No one wants them there anyway. Besides, JAXPORT will not be able to entice cruise ships away from Port Canaveral as easily as they thinks. People want to go to Central Florida where all the action is, not to Jacksonville that can only offer.. The Landings, a looser NFL Team and trigger happy cops...... Blog this'
