We're here to provide the citizens of Jacksonville and surrounding world with an uncensored forum to freely voice their thoughts about local, state, national and world events. Here, your opinions are not suppressed by the will of advertisers or the dictates of business managers. Unlike many TV news blogs, we don’t owe our soles to outside influences. We don’t care about the political impact of our readers' input. Most of all, we don’t give a damn if we offend the sensibilities of others with the truth.

Obama to propose $1.5 trillion in new tax revenue | General Headlines | Comcast.net:
The time has come in American history to reshuffle the deck. For far to long the rich and powerful have held all the good cards to their chest and shared nothing with the rest of America. Now that all the cash cows have been slaughtered and the coffers emptied,  Boehner and his buddies want to steal what little is left from the aging, the sick and the poor. For decades Politicians have allowed the financial hemorrhaging of the American economy to go unchecked and unabated. They've approved and financially rewarded corporations that send millions of jobs off-shore every year. They have permitted and promoted foreign interest in the purchasing of countless American corporations. Last but not least, many politicians have become grotesquely rich off of Foreign Trade Agreements that undermine American manufacturing might. Expecting our national economy to recover from all that is like expecting an 80 year old man to win an iron man event. The time has come for Congress to make the rich give something back to the American economy by starting to pay their FAIR share of the American tax burden. The Republicans have protected their wealthy friends for far to long. The very idea of cutting a sick old woman's medical needs to help pay for a rich man's world-class vacation is infuriating. Those who have the most should give the most. It's really just that simple...

  1. Socialist ideology is not the answer. Targeting a specific demographic, like the rich, is discrimination and will only hinder any chance of recovery. The problem is too much government, too many wars, and too many entitlements. It's time to start making the tough choices and electing Representatives based on common sense, not party affliations.

  2. Socialist ideologies,...Discrimination ??? That's straight out of the Republican playbook isn't it? We're talking about middle class survival here. The very future of America lies in the balance between economic momentum and taxation fairness. How do you think rich people get and stay rich??? It's off the backs of others. Making the rich pay a fair share is not discrimination, it's simple broad-based responsibility. In this country 90% of the population control 10% of the wealth while 10% of the population control 90% of the wealth. It's time the rich paid for more than just our politicians...
